Our Mission
SAFE Haven for Cats is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter dedicated to saving cats’ lives through rescue, adoption, community programs, and education. We believe in providing the care that every cat deserves as they wait for their forever homes.
Our History and Commitment
Since our founding in 1994, we have remained committed to addressing the pet overpopulation problem within the ten counties of the Triangle. We launched the SAFE Care Spay/Neuter Clinic in 2001, which has since performed over 60,000 surgeries to help community members and their feline companions.

Operating as a no-kill shelter, our success relies on the dedication of our community and our small team of ten full-time paid staff members who manage our daily operations. We go beyond just providing shelter; we offer vital resources like our Pet Food Pantry and comprehensive spay/neuter services, ensuring that cats receive the support they need at every stage of their lives.
