Our Mission
Second Chance Cats of West Michigan is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to giving at-risk felines the care, love, and time they need to thrive. We believe every cat deserves a second chance at living a full and healthy life.
Our Journey
Founded in 2021, our rescue was born from a desire to help cats in municipal shelters who face the highest risk of euthanasia or struggle with medical needs. We are a community-focused team of volunteers who believe that by working together, we can provide a safety net for felines who simply need a little more patience and understanding to find their way home.
How We Operate
We are a foster-based rescue, meaning many of our cats are cared for in loving homes while they await their forever families. We also operate a dedicated Adoption Center in Grand Rapids, where prospective adopters can visit, spend time with our residents, and learn more about our mission in a peaceful, enriching environment.

3/31 - Grand Rapids cat rescue to host free Easter egg hunt
On Friday, visitors to Second Chance Cats of West Michigan can attend the organization’s fourth annual Spring Egg Hunt and search for Easter eggs alongside some adoptable cats.
