D'Arcy's Animal Rescue Centre is dedicated to giving stray and abandoned cats and dogs across Manitoba a second chance through compassionate care and responsible, lifelong adoption.

Our Story

What began in 1998 as a grassroots effort by D'Arcy Johnston in his own home has grown into one of Western Canada’s largest for-life animal shelters. For over 25 years, our community-funded organization has provided a safe haven for animals with nowhere else to go.

How We Care

We believe every healthy and treatable animal deserves a second chance, and we are committed to their care for life—not just for now. Our animals receive comprehensive veterinary checkups, personalized medical support, and a safe, comfortable environment within our main centre, satellite locations, or our dedicated foster homes until they find their perfect match.
