Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue is a dedicated 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to rescuing, sheltering, and securing permanent, loving homes for stray and abandoned dogs. We strive to foster compassion for all creatures and reduce pet overpopulation through education and advocacy.
Founded in 1999, our rescue began as an all-volunteer effort to help the most vulnerable dogs in our area. Since purchasing our own facility in 2002, we have remained steadfast in our mission to provide a safe haven for those who have nowhere else to turn.
As a no-kill shelter, we provide a warm, safe environment for dogs while they wait for their new families. Our volunteer-run team ensures that every dog receives essential care, including vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and microchipping. When space is available, we also extend our reach to help dogs from high-kill shelters who would otherwise be destroyed due to space constraints.
We believe in the power of thoughtful matching to create successful, lasting relationships. Our volunteers work diligently to understand both the lifestyle of the family and the unique temperament of each dog, ensuring a perfect union. We are here to help you form a bond with a friend and provide a life that, for many of our rescues, has never been known before.
