The Hermitage No-Kill Cat Shelter & Sanctuary is dedicated to advocating for the welfare of all cats by serving as a model cage-free sanctuary. We believe every cat is adoptable and deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life.
Founded in 1965, we have spent decades providing a refuge for at-risk cats and kittens in Tucson, Arizona. Originally established as the Arizona Animal Anti-Cruelty League, we have grown into an accredited sanctuary that remains committed to the protection and compassionate care of our feline friends.
Our 9,000 square-foot, cage-free shelter offers a unique environment where over 300 cats roam freely in designated sections, including outdoor 'catios'. As a no-kill facility, we provide high-quality medical and physical care to every resident, ensuring that cats with special needs—such as those with FIV or FeLV—receive the specialized attention they require to thrive.
We believe adoption is the start of a beautiful, lifelong partnership. Our team is committed to finding the perfect match for every family, and we approach each adoption with transparency and care to ensure every cat enters a loving, permanent home. By treating each feline as an amazing individual, we help create meaningful bonds that last a lifetime.
