Our Mission
Harmony House for Cats is a non-profit, no-kill rescue dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment for cats in need. We believe in the dignity of every cat and work tirelessly to connect them with loving families.
Our Story
Founded in 1970 as the Animal Protective Association, our journey began with foster homes and a commitment to veterinary care. Over the decades, our passion for cat welfare led us to our current home in Chicago, where we continue our legacy of compassionate rescue under the name Harmony House for Cats.
A Home-Like Environment
In 2012, we opened our cageless, Platinum LEED-certified adoption center, designed specifically for the well-being of our residents. Our facility features spacious, sunlit playrooms and special needs suites that offer cats a comfortable, natural space to thrive while they wait for their forever homes.
