Our Mission
Hawk Creek Animal Shelter is dedicated to providing a safe haven for stray, abused, neglected, and abandoned animals while promoting responsible pet ownership. We believe in the unique, reciprocal bond between humans and animals, and we work every day to help these companions find their perfect forever homes.
Our History
Since our organization’s beginnings in the early 1970s, we have remained committed to the welfare of animals in Kandiyohi and Meeker Counties. After years of growth and transitions, we opened our permanent, purpose-built facility in 2009, which allows us to provide a high standard of care for the animals that come through our doors.
How We Care
We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that offers a professional, supportive environment for animals awaiting placement. Our team provides essential nutrition, medical care, and affection, ensuring that every animal is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before joining a new family. Through our dedicated staff and volunteer network, we provide a safe, compassionate bridge to a better life for hundreds of animals each year.

Our team conducts in-person interviews to ensure every match is a suitable fit for both the animal and your lifestyle.
