Our Mission
Hopeful Tails Animal Rescue is a 501c3 no-kill shelter dedicated to saving lives by rescuing stray, abandoned, or neglected dogs. We work tirelessly to provide a safe haven of love, health, and wellness for our animals while finding them permanent, loving forever homes.
Our Story
Founded on October 13, 2013, our organization began with a group of passionate volunteers from another rescue who wanted to make a greater impact. We officially became a foster-based rescue by November 2013 and have since grown to serve the Joliet, Illinois community and beyond. Today, we remain driven by the support of our donors, volunteers, and the community to fight for the voiceless.
How We Operate
Our organization relies on a vital network of dedicated foster homes and a core shelter team to provide individualized care. We focus on animal health by offering necessary veterinary treatment, including vaccinations and spay/neuter services, to every dog regardless of their background. Through our foster-based approach, we offer dogs a warm, loving environment to heal, grow, and flourish while they await their perfect match.

We believe in creating well-matched, carefully selected connections between our rescued dogs and their future families. By getting to know each animal’s unique personality, we ensure that every adoption is the beginning of a joyful partnership. Our team is committed to providing ongoing education and resources to help our adopters provide the best possible care for their new companions.
