The Jessamine Humane Society is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to the protection of all animals from cruelty and exploitation while working toward the elimination of pet overpopulation. How We Care for Our Animals
We are a unique, volunteer-led organization that operates through a dedicated foster network rather than a traditional shelter facility. All of our animals available for adoption are currently living in comfortable foster homes where they receive personalized attention and love until they are ready to find their forever families.
Your Adoption Journey

Our thoughtful adoption process, which includes a review and a meet-and-greet, is designed to ensure the best possible match for both the animal and your unique household. We take pride in ensuring that all of our animals are up to date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered before they join your home, setting everyone up for a successful future together.
