At Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, we believe every dog deserves a loving home and a lifetime of care. We are dedicated to providing a compassionate approach to rescue, matching homeless dogs from overcrowded shelter systems with the loving families they truly deserve.
Our journey began in 2008 with a single rescue: a momma beagle named Lola Jean saved from euthanasia during the holiday season. What started as a simple gift of life grew into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has supported over 15,000 families since 2009. We are proud to call North Syracuse our home, operating from a facility that serves as a place of hope and lifelong support for our canine friends.
Compassion has no boundaries, which is why we partner with shelters to move dogs into our care, ensuring they have the space and resources they need to thrive. Whether welcoming dogs from local animal control or through transport partnerships, our dedicated staff and army of volunteers provide medical care, training, and love. Every dog in our program receives spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and microchipping, ensuring they are ready for their new life with you.
Adoption is the heart of our mission, and we take great care in matching every dog with a family to ensure a perfect, long-term fit. Our commitment to you does not end the day you take your new companion home; we offer a lifetime of support, including resources and guidance to ensure a smooth transition. We view adoption as a joyful, lifelong partnership between your family and our rescue community.
