Our Mission
The Hawaiian Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the human-animal bond and the humane treatment of all animals. We envision a community in which every companion animal has a home and is highly regarded by the people who care for them.
Our Story
Since 1883, we have served the animals and communities of Oʻahu, beginning as an organization founded by concerned citizens to advocate for companion and working animals. Today, we continue this legacy from our Mōʻiliʻili Campus in Honolulu and our newer Kosasa Family Campus at Hoʻopili in ʻEwa Beach, working tirelessly to create a society built on compassion and shared responsibility.

We are a community-driven organization committed to employing best practices for animal wellbeing through our two Oʻahu campuses. Beyond our shelter facilities, we rely on a robust network of foster families who open their homes to provide temporary love and care, helping pets prepare for their forever families. We are deeply committed to working with our community to ensure the best possible outcomes for every animal in our care.
