The Humane Society of Oldham County is dedicated to rescuing and re-homing animals in need while safeguarding the health and happiness of every creature that comes through our doors. We lead by example, championing the prevention of animal cruelty and promoting responsible pet care within our community.
Our Story
Since our founding in 1986, we have grown into a stand-alone, no-kill animal rescue serving Oldham County and the surrounding areas. We began by helping establish our county’s animal shelter, and we have since dedicated ourselves to reducing the number of homeless pets through proactive initiatives like low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinics.

Our operations rely on a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who provide essential care, socialization, and medical support at our facility, alongside an important network of foster homes. By keeping our administrative costs low, we ensure that every dollar donated directly benefits the animals in our care.

The Humane Society of Oldham County raised close to $27,000 at their Fashion & FURiends event in La Grange, featuring summer fashions by Dillard’s and spotlighting adoptable pets and their loving owners.
