Southern Colorado Spay and Neuter Association is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals through affordable population control and compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. We believe in providing for the homed and unhomed pets of our community, ensuring every animal has the best chance to thrive.
Operating since 1997 from our facility in Pueblo, we have proudly served the southern Colorado community for over 25 years. We have performed over 93,000 sterilizations and provided hundreds of thousands of vaccines to pets without income restrictions, addressing the vital need for accessible preventative care.
We are more than just a clinic; we are a dedicated shelter specializing in special-needs and hard-to-adopt rescues. Our expert team, led by Dr. Kristin Ballotti, manages a variety of impactful programs, including neonatal bottle-feeding support, sponsored trap-neuter-return (TNR) clinics, and our Paw Responder team, which safely brings lost or scared dogs back home.
Adopting is a wonderful way to change a life, and we are here to support you through every step of the process. We evaluate every rescue upon arrival to develop a tailored treatment plan, ensuring that our pets are healthy and prepared to join their new families. By utilizing partnerships like our adoption center at Petco, we help hundreds of cats and dogs find their forever homes every year.
If you are ready to find a new companion, we invite you to browse our available pets online. Once you find a potential match, please complete our adoption questionnaire so we can schedule a meet-n-greet. We look forward to helping you make a new best friend today!
