Our Mission

At Pet Pal Animal Shelter, our mission is to rescue dogs and cats from shelters where they might otherwise be euthanized due to time limitations, injury, or lack of resources. We are dedicated to providing these deserving animals a second chance at life through compassionate care and professional rehabilitation.

Our Story

Founded in the early 1980s by two women who were deeply moved by the challenges of pet overpopulation, our organization has grown from a small rescue initiative into a pillar of the community. Since relocating to Pinellas County in 2002, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering as a path to a better future for all pets.

How We Help

As a proud no-kill, non-profit organization, we concentrate our resources on rehabilitating animals until they find their permanent, loving homes. We operate a shelter facility in St. Petersburg and also support our community through the Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic, which provides exams and procedures at affordable rates to help keep pets happy, healthy, and in their homes.
