Our Mission
The Cleveland Animal Protective League is dedicated to fostering compassion and ending animal suffering. We work every day to create happily ever afters for the pets and people of our community.
Our History and Purpose
Since 1913, we have served as an independent, nonprofit humane society for Cuyahoga County. As a 501(c)(3) agency, we operate without government or national animal welfare funding, relying entirely on the generosity of our supporters to provide care for homeless animals.
How We Care
We provide shelter to animals relinquished by their guardians, those rescued from abuse or neglect, and stray or abandoned cats. As an unlimited stay organization, we are committed to providing care for as long as it takes to find each animal a new home, utilizing our Second Chance Program to provide medical care and rehabilitation for those who need it most.
