The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society promotes the humane treatment of animals through compassionate care, community engagement, and dedicated support. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of our local animals, one wagging tail and gentle purr at a time.

Formed in 1972 through the vision of Charlotte Bateman, our non-profit organization has served as a beacon for abandoned and unwanted domestic animals in Boyle County for over five decades. We believe in the power of community, and our facility continues to evolve to provide the best possible environment for the pets currently in our care.
How We Help
Governed by a dedicated volunteer board, we operate our animal shelter with a focus on sheltering, adoption, education, and spay/neuter initiatives. We rely on a compassionate network of volunteers and foster homes to provide pets with the love, training, and socialization they need while they wait for their forever families.
