Pet Adoption Fund is dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs and cats from city and county shelters, as well as those abandoned or in need, and placing them in loving, permanent homes. We believe in providing every animal with a safe, healthy environment while advocating for responsible pet ownership through spay and neuter education.
Founded in 1983 by the late Kay Duffy, our organization has proudly served Los Angeles as a private, non-profit, no-kill rescue for over four decades. Kay’s vision established the foundation for one of the most enduring and impactful animal rescue efforts in Southern California, and today her passion continues to drive our daily work.
We operate a dedicated adoption center in Canoga Park where our residents receive nutritious meals, daily walks, grooming, and compassionate medical care. As a true no-kill organization, we provide each animal with the time, space, and rehabilitation necessary to prepare them for their new life. Our facility is powered by a community of devoted volunteers who ensure our furry friends receive the love and attention they deserve while awaiting adoption.
We prioritize creating successful, lifelong partnerships between pets and their new families. Because we take the time to understand each animal's unique personality and history, we are able to provide guidance that ensures a smooth, joyful transition for everyone involved. Our commitment extends beyond the adoption day, as we are always here to offer support to our adopters.
