Mountain Shelter Humane Society is dedicated to sheltering and rehoming animals in need while providing resources and educational programs to foster an informed, compassionate community.
Since our founding in 1985, we have been committed to supporting the loving bond between pets and people across Towns and Union counties. For forty years, we have worked to ensure that every local dog and cat has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.
We believe every pet deserves a warm, safe place to stay and the high-quality care they need while awaiting their forever families. Through our dedicated staff and partners, our residents receive nutritious meals, essential medical treatments, surgeries, and emotional support. By collaborating with local animal control, we provide a structured path for homeless pets to be rescued, evaluated, and placed into our adoption program.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and our team is proud to guide you through the process of finding your new best friend. We focus on creating brighter futures for local animals, and each successful adoption is a testament to the collective efforts of our staff, volunteers, and the community members who welcome these pets into their hearts and homes.
Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in volunteering, or want to support our life-changing work, there are many ways to get involved. We invite you to view our adoptable pets online, visit our Adoption Center at 129 Bowling Gap Circle in Blairsville, or drop by our Thrift Store to support our ongoing programs.
