Our Mission
The Etowah Valley Humane Society exists to prevent cruelty, relieve suffering, and provide humane treatment for animals in need. We are a dedicated team where best friends meet, committed to creating bright futures for every companion in our care.
Our History
Founded in 1996, our organization began as an adoption outlet for Bartow County Animal Control. In 2006, we opened our own facility on Ladds Mountain Road in Cartersville, Georgia, allowing us to expand our capacity to help homeless pets as a private, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation.
How We Help
We are a shelter-based organization that rescues pets directly from Bartow County Animal Control. Supported primarily by adoption fees, community donations, and the dedicated efforts of volunteers, we work hard to ensure every animal receives essential medical care, including spay or neuter services, vaccinations, and microchipping before finding their forever homes.

We use an appointment-based system with approved applications to ensure every family receives personalized, one-on-one time with our staff in a comfortable environment.
