The Animal League is dedicated to reducing and preventing animal abuse, neglect, and homelessness through compassion, education, and responsible pet adoption. We strive to provide a brighter future for the animals who need us most, serving our community and beyond with heart and purpose.
Established in 1988, our organization began as a grassroots effort by a small group of animal lovers committed to a no-kill policy. Over the decades, we have grown from a non-existent budget into a vital presence in the Central Florida area, helping approximately 1,000 pets annually find the loving forever homes they deserve.
We are often the last hope for abused, abandoned, and neglected cats and dogs. Upon arrival at our facility, every pet receives a comprehensive veterinary assessment, necessary vaccinations, microchipping, and spay or neuter surgery. Through our specialized New Hope Intake Center and Loos Recovery Center, we provide the dedicated medical attention each animal needs to thrive before they are ready for their next chapter.
We believe that successful adoptions are built on compatibility, which is why we focus on finding the best match for both your lifestyle and the pet's unique personality. Our adoption process is designed to ensure a lifetime of happiness, allowing our staff and volunteers to guide you through a thoughtful, personal experience. By prioritizing these connections, we help create meaningful, lasting bonds between our rescue pets and their new families.
Your support makes our mission possible, whether you choose to adopt, volunteer, or donate. We invite you to explore our available pets today and see which of our wonderful residents is waiting to become your new best friend. Together, we can continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of animals who bring so much joy into our world.
