Take Paws Rescue is dedicated to meeting the moral obligation to protect and save the lives of pets in need throughout Louisiana. We work tirelessly to pull animals from shelters and prepare them for their journey to loving, permanent homes across the U.S.
Our organization was founded in 2015 by Monique Bonnaffons after a life-changing experience rescuing a dog named Clarence. Supported by her family and hundreds of dedicated volunteers, what began as a small rescue operation has grown into a community of advocates committed to giving every underdog a second chance.
We are a foster-based non-profit rescue, meaning our rescued animals live in loving homes with volunteer families rather than a central shelter. In addition to our statewide foster network, our new Stray Café in New Orleans helps dogs transition from homelessness to companionship through socialization and love.
We believe that every adoption is a lifelong commitment, and we take great care to ensure each match is a perfect fit for both the pet and the family. Our thorough application process exists because we want to set you and your new furry friend up for long-term success and happiness. We provide the support and resources you need to feel confident as you welcome your new companion home.
Are you ready to find your new best friend? We invite you to view our available animals, follow us on social media for updates, or learn more about our adoption process. Thank you for choosing to make a difference in the lives of our rescued pets.
