Founded in 1929, the Brandywine Valley SPCA has grown into the region's largest animal welfare organization, serving PA, DE, NJ, and the nation's capital. Our work is driven by a vision to lead the way in welfare, empowering everyone to treat life with respect and dignity.
How We Help
As an open-access shelter, we provide safety, love, and hope to lost pets, cruelty victims, and animals in need of a second chance. We go beyond the walls of our facilities by providing low-cost veterinary care and food assistance to keep pets with the families who love them, helping to build stronger communities.

What an amazing National Adoption Week with PetSmart and PetSmart Charities in one of my favorite cities, Philly! Spent the week seeing the work up close and meeting so many incredible animal welfare leaders. Really inspired by their resilience, creativity, and ability to make a lot happen with a little. Also got to work alongside the PetSmart field team on more ways to support adoption partners in the region. Highlight was seeing Gracie, a TX dog from the floods get adopted after transport!
