The Livingston County Humane Society (LCHS) is dedicated to placing each animal that comes into our care into a good, loving home. We are committed to promoting responsible pet care and ensuring every animal receives the attention and compassion they deserve.
For over twenty years, LCHS has served as a vital community resource in the village of Rowe, just outside of Pontiac, Illinois. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that relies entirely on the support of our generous community, staff, and volunteers to keep our doors open.
We believe in providing a safe, clean environment for our animals while they await their forever families. Our facility, staffed by a dedicated and passionate team, allows for daily enrichment, exercise, and socialization, ensuring that our cats and dogs are happy and healthy during their stay. We maintain a high standard of care through daily cleaning, routine medical attention, and the constant support of our incredible volunteer network.
We believe that finding the right companion is a joyful journey, and our goal is to help you find the pet that is the perfect match for your lifestyle. Our staff takes the time to get to know each animal’s unique personality, and we are here to provide guidance on everything from introducing your new pet to other household members to settling into new routines. We want to ensure that every adoption is the beginning of a lifelong, loving friendship.
We invite you to visit us during our open hours to tour the shelter and meet the wonderful dogs and cats currently waiting for their new beginnings. You don't need an appointment to stop by, say hello, and see who captures your heart!
