Our Mission

Founded in 1981, SOS Animal Shelter is dedicated to rescuing stray and unwanted dogs and cats, providing them with a safe, no-kill environment while they wait for their forever homes.

Our Journey

Since opening our shelter doors in 1987, we have remained a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization driven by the support of our dedicated volunteers and our compassionate community. We focus our efforts on rescuing animals, finding them loving homes, and educating the public about the importance of pet adoption and the challenge of overpopulation.

Care with Heart

At SOS, we believe every animal deserves safety, kindness, and a chance to start over. Our dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to provide rehabilitation, spay and neuter services, and essential medical care, including heartworm testing for dogs and leukemia testing for cats. We are proud to be a no-kill facility, where every animal is treated with the patience and love they need to thrive while they await their perfect match.

When you adopt from us, you receive a pet that has been vaccinated, microchipped, and vetted, ensuring they are healthy and ready to join your family. We see our adopters as partners in our mission, helping us continue to provide second chances to the many pets in our care.
