Woodford Humane Society is dedicated to providing housing and care for homeless and unwanted pets, striving to find them good, loving, and permanent homes. Since 1975, we have served as a compassionate sanctuary for thousands of animals in Versailles, Kentucky, and beyond.
Our Commitment to Every Pet
We are a 501c3 nonprofit that takes in animals regardless of their health, age, or breed, and we never impose a time limit on a pet's stay. Because we receive no government funding, we rely entirely on the generosity of our community to provide the care that our animals need until they find their perfect match. We are proud to maintain a placement rate of 95% or higher, ensuring every pet receives the best opportunity for a happy life.
Providing Exceptional Care
Our dedicated staff and volunteers work hard every day to keep our animals comfortable, healthy, and happy. Each pet in our care is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, screened for common health conditions, and receives a free post-adoption veterinary checkup. Whether a pet is with us for a few days or several years, they are part of our family until they join yours.
