The SPCA in Cattaraugus County is dedicated to saving the lives of animals and providing compassionate adoption services for homeless and neglected pets. We focus on turning moments of uncertainty into hopeful new beginnings for every animal in our care.
Our History and Community
Founded in 1905, we have proudly served our region as a private, non-profit charity shelter for over a century. As the largest animal shelter in New York’s southern tier, we rely on the generosity of donors and fundraisers to support our mission of making lives better.
How We Care for Our Animals
Since 1984, our facility on 11 acres has provided a safe, comfortable environment for animals awaiting their forever homes. We offer 58 indoor/outdoor dog kennels, specialized rooms for our feline friends—including open-concept spaces to romp and play—and dedicated play yards for exercise and agility training. Our medical area ensures that every animal receives individual attention and recovery support from our caring staff.
