Frosted Faces Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering the promise of family and comprehensive veterinary care for senior dogs and cats whose lives are in jeopardy. We transform how society values aging animals, creating a community where they are celebrated, supported, and never left behind.
Founded in 2014 by Kelly and Andy Smíšek, our organization began as a response to senior dogs being overlooked in local shelters. As the need for support quickly outpaced our capacity, we established a broader network of compassionate families and partners to ensure every aging pet receives a second chance.
We work closely with open-admission shelters to identify senior animals who are out of time and options. Our facility in Ramona, California, serves as a safe, transitional space where each animal receives tailored veterinary treatment, behavioral support, and a soft place to land while awaiting their forever home.
We believe that adoption is a joyful, conversation-based process that connects senior pets with families ready to author their final, beautiful chapters. Whether you are interested in a permanent adoption or a trial 'Frosted Fling,' our staff is here to help you find the perfect match for your lifestyle and home.
We invite you to visit us for our Open House and Tours every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 1:00pm, or stop by during our drop-in adoption hours, Monday through Sunday, 10:00am to 3:00pm.
