Partners for Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) is dedicated to promoting animal welfare in Hancock County through humane education, community-based pet sterilization, and finding loving forever homes for animals in need.

Founded as a not-for-profit corporation in Hancock County, our organization is driven by a deep commitment to animal welfare and humane education. We continue the legacy of our beloved former executive director, Nancy Rubino, whose lifelong dedication to rescuing and rehabilitating animals inspires our team to support pets and their families every day.
How We Care
We operate as a foster-based rescue, meaning the majority of our animals reside in nurturing foster homes where they receive love, socialization, and personalized care until they are ready for adoption. While some of our cats are housed at the P.A.W.S. Center or our PetSmart Adoption Center in Greenfield, our foster network allows us to provide a safe, stable environment that helps each animal thrive before they meet their new family.
