Our Mission

At the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF), we are dedicated to loving and protecting dogs and cats by providing shelter, nourishment, medical care, and placement. We strive to make our community a better place to live for both animals and humans alike.

Our Journey

Founded in 1998 by Terri Panszi, ARF began as a small, humble sanctuary where one person handled the daily care, feeding, and adoptions for 20-30 animals. Since those early days, we have grown into a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit, operating from our campus on Riggin Road in Muncie, Indiana, to serve homeless animals and assist local pet owners.

A Haven for Healing

Our campus is a place of care and community, featuring the Kitty Cottage for our feline friends and Jeff's House for our adoptable dogs. For those animals with medical or behavioral needs that make them less suitable for adoption, our Sanctuary House, 'Ollie’s Bed & Biscuit,' offers a long-term, comfortable home where they remain safe and loved.

We believe the love of an animal can be life-changing, and we are committed to finding the right match for both you and your new family member. Our adoption process is designed with care to ensure every animal finds the perfect, permanent home where they can thrive. We encourage potential adopters to browse our available pets and complete an application to begin this rewarding journey.
