Our Mission
The Humane Society of Macomb is dedicated to providing humane care for unwanted, abused, and injured animals while working to prevent cruelty and place adoptable pets into loving, permanent homes. We are committed to helping those who cannot speak for themselves find the companionship and security they deserve.
Our History and Community
Since opening our doors in May 1967, we have remained an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving our community. We are proud to be entirely self-governed and are not associated with any other animal welfare organization, relying on the generous support of individuals like you to make our work possible.
Our Care Model
Every animal that comes through our doors receives a second chance at happiness through our comprehensive care model. We combine a dedicated shelter facility with a robust foster program, where volunteer families provide temporary, loving environments for animals needing extra care or socialization before they find their forever homes.
