Our Mission
Fixing the Boro is dedicated to providing a humane and sustainable solution to the overpopulation of pets in Bulloch County and surrounding areas. We believe in creating a better future for our local animals, one pet at a time.
Our Story
Founded in the spring of 2017 by Sarah Roehm, Beth Stembridge, and Chris Sterling, our organization began as a group offering vouchers for veterinary services in Statesboro. We soon realized that rescue alone was not enough, leading us to expand our focus to include a clinic dedicated to low-cost spay and neuter procedures, tackling the issue of pet overpopulation directly at its source.
How We Help
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that relies entirely on private donations and grants to provide essential services to our community. Our rescue program operates through a network of dedicated foster homes, which provide a loving and temporary retreat for animals pulled from community owners and local municipal shelters. This allows us to provide high-quality care, including vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries, to every animal before they find their forever home.
