Our Story
Since our incorporation in 1977, our society has been powered by the deep concern and commitment of local citizens. From our humble beginnings after a local student spoke out for animals in need, we have grown into a vital community resource, operating both the Salmon Animal Shelter and our beloved Rags & Wags thrift store.
Our Approach to Care
We operate the Salmon Animal Shelter, where every resident receives a health assessment and vaccinations upon arrival. Beyond basic care, we focus on long-term welfare by sponsoring public spay and neuter programs to prevent overpopulation and working closely with local law enforcement to protect animals in crisis. Our team, ranging from professional staff to dedicated volunteers, works tirelessly to ensure that every dog and cat experiences a safe, nurturing environment.
