The Animal Protection League, Inc. makes second chances possible through the human/animal connection. We strive to provide a compassionate, humane community for our animals while celebrating the profound, reciprocal bond between people and their pets.
Founded in 2003, our organization began with a goal to raise awareness about animal care and humane treatment. In 2011, we entered a vital partnership with the City of Anderson to manage its animal shelter, allowing us to expand our reach in protecting and helping homeless animals throughout our community.
We operate as an open-admission facility dedicated to the well-being of every animal that enters our care. Our team and volunteers work tirelessly to provide medical care, behavioral support, and a safe environment for dogs and cats. We also take pride in our unique prison programs, such as FIDO and 9 Lives, which help save animals while offering inmates the chance to give back.
Adopting is more than just bringing home a pet; it is a lifelong commitment that creates a joyful partnership. Our team is here to help you find the best possible match for your home, ensuring a connection that offers love, security, and a fresh start for a deserving animal. We believe every adoption is an act of love that transforms lives on both ends of the leash.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our adoptable animals online or visit us at our shelter in Anderson to begin your journey. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer, or donate, your support helps us continue making second chances possible every day.
