The Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County is dedicated to saving lives and providing a compassionate bridge for animals in need. We work tirelessly to ensure every animal in our care finds a loving forever home where they can truly thrive.

Our Story

Our journey began in the early 1980s with a focus on spay and neuter services, eventually growing into the shelter we operate today at 9700 Uva Drive in Redwood Valley. For over thirty years, our community has stepped up time and again to support our mission, helping us maintain a safe haven for displaced dogs and cats.

Our Care Model

We believe in the power of professional care and community support to provide a high quality of life for our residents. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers provides enrichment, medical care, and daily attention to the roughly 1,000 animals that pass through our doors annually. By combining shelter-based care with our foster and foster-to-adopt programs, we ensure every pet receives the specialized support they need while waiting for their perfect match.
