Our Mission
At the Humane Society of Calvert County, our mission is to provide compassionate care, shelter, and advocacy for homeless and at-risk animals while striving to find them loving, permanent homes. We work tirelessly to create a brighter future for the animals in our care, one paw at a time.
Our Commitment to the Community
As a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, we rely entirely on the generosity of individuals, corporations, and our dedicated volunteers. We are a strong community resource that advocates for responsible pet ownership, promotes spay/neuter programs, and fosters a culture of kindness throughout Calvert County.
How We Help
We provide a safe haven for approximately 350 dogs annually, offering rescue, rehabilitation, and the comforts of home as they wait for their forever families. Our facility, located in Sunderland, MD, serves as a hub where our dedicated team of animal lovers works every day to nurse our rescues back to health and prepare them for their new lives.
