Our mission is to give dogs and people a better chance at a life together through rescue, care, adoption, and education. We believe that every dog deserves a safe place to land and a future filled with love.
Founded in 1990, the K-9 Stray Rescue League has spent over three decades providing thoughtful, responsible rescue for dogs in need. We are a Michigan nonprofit committed to helping dogs from high-volume shelters, often those with uncertain pasts or limited options, find the second chance they truly deserve.
Our work is rooted in compassion and realism, guided by the patience and experience of our dedicated team. We collaborate with shelter partners, fosters, and veterinarians to ensure each dog receives individualized care and medical attention, moving them from overcrowded environments into a space where they can heal and thrive.
We believe that successful adoptions start with care, which is why we focus on temperament and overall well-being. By getting to know each dog's unique personality, we help create lasting bonds between our residents and their new families. We are here to help you find a companion that fits your specific lifestyle and home.
Whether you are ready to adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate, we are so glad you are here. We invite you to visit our facility in Oxford, Michigan, to meet our adoptable dogs in person—no appointment is ever needed during our open hours. Together, we can give more dogs the bright futures they deserve.
