AnimalSave is dedicated to enriching the lives of cats and dogs through affordable spay and neuter services and by finding loving, permanent homes for every animal that comes through our doors. We believe in creating a community where all animals are valued and treated with kindness and compassion.
As Nevada County’s longest-running animal rescue organization, we have been serving our community for 50 years. Born from a grassroots effort in 1973, we have grown into a 501(c)(3) non-profit that operates the community’s only low-cost spay and neuter clinic, preventing pet overpopulation and ensuring that every animal is a wanted animal.
We provide a unique continuum of care that bridges the gap between the community and the shelter system. Our dedicated team of volunteers and staff manages a comprehensive foster and adoption program, alongside a specialized feral cat trap-and-return initiative. We work hard to ensure our animals are properly socialized, vaccinated, and altered before they head home to their new families.
Welcoming a new pet is a rewarding journey, and we are here to ensure the perfect match. We prioritize thoughtful placements, screening applicants to ensure that every adopter has the time and resources to provide a loving, secure environment for their new companion. Our goal is to foster deep, lasting bonds that bring joy to both pets and their guardians.
