Our History
Since our founding in 1972, we have remained the only animal shelter serving the Bitterroot Valley. Built upon a foundation of local support, we recently transitioned into a state-of-the-art facility in 2021, designed specifically to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of our animal guests.
Our Care Model
We are a private non-profit organization operating without ongoing taxpayer funding, relying entirely on the generosity of our community to sustain our life-saving work. Our dedicated staff and volunteers provide essential socialization, medical care, and training to ensure our animals are well-prepared for their next chapter. We pride ourselves on having no time or space limits, ensuring every pet receives the time they need to truly thrive.
