Our History and Mission
Since 1967, we have served the New York City Tri-State area as a trusted expert in the animal rescue world. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission extends beyond simple shelter services; we are a skilled rehabilitation and training team working to provide lifesaving care and behavior intervention for abandoned cats and dogs.
How We Care for Our Animals
We operate a facility at 200 Centre Street in Manhattan, where the majority of our animals reside so that potential adopters can easily meet them. Our care model goes beyond the basics, utilizing programs like our Underdog Program to provide structure and enrichment for our long-term residents. We never euthanize for space or time, ensuring every animal remains in our care for as long as it takes to find their perfect match.
