Founded in 1884, we are the oldest animal welfare organization in the state of Kentucky. We envision a future where every companion animal has the care, resources, and lifelong home they deserve, supported by a team that never euthanizes for time or space.
Our Care Model
We operate as a private, nonprofit organization focused on lifesaving efforts and providing comprehensive support for pets. From our dedicated Sam Swope Pet Treatment & Lifesaving Center to our mobile CARE-a-van clinic, we provide essential care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services to help pets remain healthy and happy. Our core values, including being Always Pawsitive and ensuring that Compassion Matters, guide everything we do for the animals in our care.
