Our Mission
The Southern Oregon Humane Society is dedicated to improving the lives of pets and people through sustainable programs of education, spay and neuter services, and compassionate adoption.
Our History and Commitment
Founded by Mae Richardson in 1928, our organization has invested over 97 years into the health and well-being of our community's companion animals. We are proud to be a registered not-for-profit committed to the humane treatment of every animal that comes through our doors.
How We Help
We provide a safe haven and quality care for approximately 1,600 dogs and cats annually. Through our dedicated Saving Train program, we rescue animals from other shelters, and we are proud that our animals are never euthanized due to the passage of time or space restrictions.

Our team works hard to support you after you bring your new family member home, ensuring a smooth transition into your life.
