Our Mission
The Coastal Animal Services Authority (CASA) is dedicated to facilitating the placement of stray and unwanted animals into desirable, loving homes. We strive to promote animal health, provide quality care, and ensure the safety of both our community and our furry residents.
A Partnership for Animals
For nearly 40 years, the Pet Project Foundation and the San Clemente-Dana Point Animal Shelter have been united in a unique partnership to provide pro-humane care for the lost and abandoned animals of our cities. This collaboration allows us to provide a safe, nurturing refuge for every animal in our care, regardless of how long it takes to find their perfect match. We are proud that our animals are never euthanized due to lack of space or time spent at the shelter.
How We Care
Our facility offers a comprehensive, professional environment for animals in transition, supported by thousands of hours of dedicated volunteer time annually. We maintain a robust foster program where local residents provide temporary, loving homes for animals, including bottle-fed kittens and those needing medical recuperation. This blend of shelter-based care and community-fostering ensures every pet receives the individual attention and support they deserve.
