At Mostly Muttz Rescue, it is our passion to save dogs with life-long special needs and acute medical needs as well as healthy, more easily adoptable dogs. We believe that every dog, regardless of health, deserves a fighting chance to live, to love, and to be loved for the duration of their lives.
Founded in 2013 by mother-daughter team April and Mary Moyer, Mostly Muttz Rescue began as a dedicated endeavor to help mixed-breed dogs in need. After years of volunteering for other rescues, we decided to take a risk and strike out on our own to fill a critical gap in animal welfare. Today, we are proud to have saved over 3,500 dogs and counting as an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 public charity.
We are a passionate community of volunteers who operate through a network of foster homes, which allows our rescue dogs to receive individualized care in a loving environment while they wait for their forever families. This foster-based approach enables us to learn each dog's unique personality and medical needs firsthand. Because we are dedicated to their well-being, we remain a resource for our adopters long after the adoption is finalized.
We believe in creating the perfect match, ensuring that both our muttz and your family find lasting happiness together. Our adoption process is designed to be thorough and thoughtful, beginning with an application and moving through a virtual or in-person home visit. We encourage you to meet your potential new family member through our foster network so you can feel confident that you have found your new best friend.
