We are a passionate advocate for the lives of companion animals, dedicated to finding quality homes, providing community education, and promoting responsible animal ownership. Together with our community, we are their hope, their future, and their way home.
For 50 years, the Henry County Humane Society - Geneseo has stood as a community united by love and the fight for second chances. Our journey is defined by the supporters, volunteers, and heroes who have helped us build a sanctuary where animals are rescued, healed, and loved.
As a non-profit, no-kill shelter located in Geneseo, we rely entirely on the generosity of our donors to provide food, enrichment, and vital veterinary care. Our facility is operated by a shelter manager and a small team of employees, supported by a growing group of dedicated volunteers who ensure our animals receive the love they deserve until they find their forever homes.
We believe that every animal deserves a thoughtful match, which is why we utilize a comprehensive adoption process to ensure the best interest of each pet. By requiring an application and a scheduled meet-and-greet, we create a safe environment that allows our animals to thrive while we help you find the perfect new member for your family.
Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer, or support our Paws for a Dollar monthly giving event, your kindness directly impacts the lives of the animals in our care. We invite you to view our adoptable animals online, fill out an application, or visit us at our facility on Roos Hill Road to start your journey toward a life-changing connection today.
