The Humane Society of Eastern Oregon is dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless animals, reuniting families with their lost pets, and finding loving, forever homes for those in our care. We believe every animal deserves a second chance at a life filled with comfort and companionship.
As an open-door, non-profit facility, we serve as the municipal animal shelter for the city of Hermiston and surrounding areas in Umatilla and Morrow County. We provide essential care for dogs and cats who have been abandoned, lost, or surrendered due to difficult circumstances, ensuring they receive the support they need while waiting for their new families.
Our shelter is a place of transition and hope, where healthy and friendly animals are given the time they need to find the right home. We are committed to providing a stable, nurturing environment for all our residents, regardless of how long their stay may be. Our team works tirelessly to manage animal welfare and support, from daily care and vaccinations to coordinating with local veterinarians.
We believe that finding the perfect match is a partnership that changes lives, which is why we invest significant care into our adoption process. To ensure peace of mind, every adoption includes a free vet examination and a 3-day return policy, allowing us to support both you and your new pet as you settle into life together.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Please visit us at our Hermiston facility at 1844 NW Geer Rd to see all the wonderful animals currently awaiting their forever families. You can also view our adoptable pets online via Petfinder or give us a call at 541-564-6222 to learn more about our current residents and upcoming opportunities to help.
