Founded in 1950 and operating as the Blue Ridge Humane Society since 2003, our organization has spent decades evolving to meet the needs of our local community. We recognize that the human-animal bond is essential to individual wellbeing, and we work tirelessly to address animal welfare challenges through dignity and respect.

How We Care for Animals

We operate an Adoption Center where our team assesses every animal’s behavior and health needs to ensure they are ready for their next chapter. Each pet in our care receives appropriate vaccinations, a microchip, deworming, and spay or neuter surgery before heading to their forever home. By partnering with other local facilities, we work together to find lifelong placements for animals in need.
