Our Mission
The Humane Society of Tuolumne County is dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in our community by providing a safe haven and finding loving, forever homes for the cats and dogs in our care.
A History of Compassion
Since our founding on December 12, 1947, we have served as advocates for animals and their people. We operate as an independent 501(c)(3) organization and are entirely supported by the generosity of our community through contributions, grants, and bequests rather than government funding.
Our Commitment to Care
We are a limited intake/no-kill shelter, which means we prioritize the health and well-being of every animal we welcome. We work to reduce animal overpopulation through comprehensive spay and neuter programs while providing enrichment activities to keep our guests happy and healthy while they wait for their new families.
