The Greene County Humane Society is a private, 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for lost, stray, and unwanted animals in our community. We are passionate about re-homing every animal possible and ensuring they receive the love and care they deserve while awaiting their forever homes.

Our Journey and Vision

Since our incorporation in 1984, our organization has evolved significantly, driven by a commitment to compassionate animal welfare. Today, we are proud to be a no-kill facility, focusing our energy on modernization, community engagement, and long-term solutions like our Fix 'n' Friends low-cost spay and neuter clinic to address pet overpopulation at its roots.

We believe in providing the best possible care for our residents, which is why our dogs enjoy daily leash walks and large, fenced-in yards, while our cats thrive in a dedicated play room designed for exercise and social interaction. Our facility is thoughtfully equipped with comfortable bedding and safe, durable toys to keep our animals happy, healthy, and mentally stimulated during their stay with us.
