The Clay County Humane Society is dedicated to preventing cruelty to animals, promoting humane treatment through education, and providing a safe, caring shelter for homeless cats and dogs in our community.

For nearly seven decades, our organization has proudly served the Clay County, Indiana area. We believe that every pet in our care deserves a loving environment until they find their forever home, and we are committed to maintaining that standard for all our feline and canine residents.
Our Commitment to Care
We operate a dedicated facility where all animals receive the care they need until they are adopted. To help ensure every pet gets the best start in their new life, we ensure all cats and dogs are spayed or neutered before they leave our care. We also rely on a wonderful network of foster families who provide temporary, loving homes for pets that need extra socialization, medical attention, or a quieter environment to thrive.
