Our Roots and Our Vision

Our journey began in 1984 with a group of friends in Utah who believed that every animal deserves a chance at a happy life. Today, we carry that same spirit to Los Angeles, where we lead the NKLA (No-Kill Los Angeles) initiative to transform our community into a no-kill city. We believe that through collaboration and kindness, we can change the way the world looks out for our homeless companions.

How We Save Lives

Our lifesaving work is built on a foundation of community, innovation, and direct care. At our West Los Angeles adoption center, we provide a welcoming space for animals while they await their new families. Many of our pets also thrive in foster homes, where they receive the comfort and attention they need to prepare for their forever homes, thanks to our dedicated network of volunteers.
